Many not familiar with astronomy don't realize that there are specific guidelines for naming stars and names that are for sale have no real scientific validity.

If you name a star or register a star at one of those sites, what star do you get?

The stars that are used in the name a star or register a star websites are very very far away and may not be visible even with an large telescope.  What good is it to have a star 'named' after someone when the star is virtually invisible and someone would need a Hubble Space Telescope to see it?

We have an answer!
